All careers last 4 semesters. In addition to the curriculum activities, there are courses aimed not only at EMU students but also at other music students or professional musicians.

|
Professional Musician |
As you move on the curriculum, you will be able to compose, arrange, train your ear to listen and recognize the learnt topics and perform in the different ensambles (groups of musicians) including such styles as jazz, funk, rock, latin,folklore de proyección, and new tango.
With some exceptions, most classes are private up to the most advanced semesters in the career (please ask at the administration office). Once at advanced level, you will have access to master classes of instrument held in groups.
Along the career, you will be backed up by subjects such as PC applied to music and clinics on instrument
led by local musicians i.e. Argentinean musicians
and international musicians who will give you varied visions as regards the world music scenery.
Throughout an educational assistance program, EMU generates international clinics. Only in 1999, were Mike Stern, Lincoln Goines, Scott Henderson, Phillip Catherine, Bjor Guerell and David Friesen and local clinics by Guillermo Badalá, Mono Fontana, Javier Malosetti, Edgardo Beilin, Pocho Lapouble, Pino Marrone, Lito Epumer among many others. Besides there were products clinics given by AKG, SABIAN, TAMA, IBAÑEZ, LANEY, ISTAMBUL, LA BELLA and TOMASTICK INFFIELD among others.
With respect to the private teaching, special attention was paid on choosing the teachers devoted to the different music styles among which jazz, rock, Latin, funk, folklore, tango and fusion were considered.

Arrangements and Composition |
This is a career thought to let you develop your potential as far as composition is concerned so that you can be ready to work for others and for yourself. This career will allow you to do the requested work restricting yourself to the client’s needs be this a singer, a movies or TV producer or a salesman asking for an advertising jingle to represent his/her current activity.
Along the career you will have subjects such as Piano and PC as Workstation and Audio which will let you create your own sketchesat almost the same level as those made at a recording studio and with real musicians but without leaving your place of work.
You will also have classes of audio, harmony and arrangements for big and small ensambles and you will be able to do harmony and arrangements projects which will be later played by the ensambles formed by the students of the Professional Musician career. Another important subject is Direction of Ensamble; this subject will allow you to direct, from an early stage, music groups interacting with the real situations of a professional.

Music Production |
This career is similar to the Arrangements and Composition career as for the curriculum in the music area since it is assumed from the start that both professionals work with similar clients.
Besides, in his professional ambit, the producer works on the same level as the recording engineers and technicians from different studios in
Argentina
and it is here where the producer must bear in mind the work of the engineer so as to be able to give him correct indications so that the final project can sound just as the music producer fancied it.
ith this purpose, you will receive special training to learn Mix, MIDI Edition, Audio Edition, Mastering Techniques and Production and Management. At the same time, you will be able to hire artists, negotiate contracts with discographic companies and everything connected with the live show business as well as carry out productions not only the independent ones but also the ones connected to the theatre, stadiums, the movies, TV or
tours of Argentina or other countries.

Movies and Multimedia Production |
This career was thought for those musicians who want to be professionals in what respects to composition for the movies and the multimedia. So, if this is your choice, this career will offer you all the specific tools any composer or arranger needs, it will teach you about the evolution of music in connection with the movies, about the set up and about how to read characters and study them psychologically in order to understand the music as support of the drama piece. During the career, you will also see techniques such as Spotting, Click Track or Bar Breakdown and among many other specific techniques you will learn about the relationship between director and musician, who’s at whose service?
The director of the career is Hugo Potenza, graduated as Film Scoring at Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Music Executive Producer (new) |
This career was thought for those people who want to devote themselves to artistic production in all its branches.
If this is your option, you will be able to carry out all kinds of events from those in a pub to the ones in a football stadium and even theatres of all means and sizes. In the same way, you will be able to plan and develop mega events, tours and festivals without neglecting the commercial area as well as expositions and events of all kinds connected to the music world.
Learning the technical needs for every event, you will gradually become a true professional. Moreover, you will learn to operate live and studio sound in order to get to know the environment where you will develop yourself.
Recording and sound technicians can get a specialization in this career due to the fact that both careers have many technical subjects in common.

Sound Technician |
This course offers you the necessary tools to be able to master the techniques which will let you amplify the sound of any show. You will learn mic techniques, equipments setting up, operation, PA system and monitoring, mix, technical principles of audio, electronics, technical English, handling of compressors, gate, different types of delay, use of cameras (digital or not), handling of graphic and parametric equalizers, etc.

Recording Technician |
This course gets you into the world of recording. In it, you will see mix, harmony, analysis and styles, production and management, technical English, MIDI, introduction to PC in the studio, audio and MIDI edition, handling of compressors, gate, different kinds of delay, use of cameras (digital or not), programmers, valvular preamps, FM sound maximizers, handling of graphic and parametric equalizers, use of digital/analog consoles.
The practical work is done at EMU studio A and B specially designed by Walters Storyks Design Group. This studio consists of four modules composed of two control rooms and two recording rooms. While control B can record rooms 1 and 2, control A can record room 1 being also able to be integrated with the rest of the rooms.
Every year, and in order to close the end of term, EMU students take part in the EMU FULL seminar where all the importing companies in Argentina show the latest products come out throughout the year destined not only to musicians but also to technicians and supported by Laney, Ibañez, Protools, Cre@mwere, Sabian, Tama, Istambul, La Bella, Event, Rane, among many others. |
